Google has created a map to show the status of the bush fires which have claimed many lives in Victoria, Southern Australia. Google has taken data directly from the Victoria Country Fire Authority feed to create this useful, real-time mash-up.
As The Guardian's Digital Content Blog reports, this is not the first time Google maps has been used for practical purpose. Great stuff.
